Did you Know Smoking Makes You Look Old?
Dr. Douglas Model conducted a study after he noted that people who smoked for ten years or more showed very visible signs of aging, including wrinkles and skin deterioration. He found that he could easily tell of someone had been smoking for some time…
Sure, the signs only start becoming visible after a number of years – in some cases up to ten years – BUT the effect CANNOT be reversed.
In other words, once you start looking old because of smoking, you are stuck with your “new looks”.
Considering the chemical contents of cigarettes (including things like Ammonia, Cadmium, Benzine, Formaldehyde, Lead, Acetone and Pyridine), the effects manifesting themselves as premature aging come as no surprise.
If prolonged tobacco use shows up on your FACE, what does the inside of your body look like? Can you imagine how much damage must be inflicted to the inside of your body before it starts showing on the outside?
Keep in mind that these are not temporary effects – they are irreversible.
So you cannot really compare it to the effects of a lack of sleep or stress.
DO you really want to look older than you are?
Do you really want to do that to yourself?
